You know, I never thought of it until I read your comment, but if they made a film version of this book Richard Armitage would be an excellent choice for the Duke. I think you'll love it. I was amazed after reading your comment that the term "anti-hero" failed to come to mind when I was writing this post, but I'll blame it on my pregnant brain (such a convenient excuse!). Justin and Leonie are certainly one of the most memorable couples I have ever encountered in all my reading.

Jj - I was actually pretty Alexa Adamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10086472405632748174noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6589226281542951200.post-74344087374092927032011-01-06T10:35:16.841-05:002011-01-06T10:35:16.841-05:00I love These Old Shades, but I like Devil's Cu...I love These Old Shades, but I like Devil's Cub even more (hard to imagine). I have not read a Georgette Heyer I didn't like, but these two I love and re-read often. I love the character of Leonie - she's great and not afraid to speak her mind. But Vidal, ah, that's my kind of bad boy.Jjhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07296721751577353993noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6589226281542951200.post-42251948362709649862011-01-06T08:39:02.454-05:002011-01-06T08:39:02.454-05:00Although I love them all, These Old Shades and Dev...Although I love them all, These Old Shades and Devil's Cub are two of my favorite Georgette Heyer romances, due in large part to the presence of the Duke of Avon. I agree that he is more of a villain, or anti-hero, than hero; but he is also so charming in a dynamically laid-back manner that he absolutely brings life to the phrase "being drawn like a moth to a flame."
