I have read them all several times over. But the best two books of them all are These Old Shades and the sequel The Devil's Cub.... you won't be able to put them down!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6589226281542951200.post-23260663007307022902011-03-04T20:47:13.154-05:002011-03-04T20:47:13.154-05:00You and me both Kaydee! You and me both Kaydee!Alexa Adamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10086472405632748174noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6589226281542951200.post-7439391342513013252011-03-03T22:19:42.782-05:002011-03-03T22:19:42.782-05:00I will check out These Old Shades next. It is the one area of her writing that I still have not ventured into, but I have now read most of her romances. The Black Moth is more interesting as a precursor to These Old Shades, which is absolutely magnificent.Alexa Adamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10086472405632748174noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6589226281542951200.post-87270629500253704472011-03-03T21:42:12.707-05:002011-03-03T21:42:12.707-05:00Hi Alexa. I have one of her mysteries as well, but I have not read it yet.Kate Danahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12698174666002747781noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6589226281542951200.post-57594427484024217122011-03-03T21:10:22.797-05:002011-03-03T21:10:22.797-05:00Hi Kaydee! I really need to get some of his Heyer audio recordings, as I hear such wonderful things about them. And yes, Freddie's father would have been a fascinating hero, certainly far more capable than his son, but I admit to having a soft spot for Heyer's more inept heroes.Alexa Adamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10086472405632748174noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6589226281542951200.post-87147727198858876212011-03-03T11:18:38.577-05:002011-03-03T11:18:38.577-05:00Richard Armitage read this to me last fall and I r...Richard Armitage read this to me last fall and I really, really enjoyed it. Not a big fan of May/Dec romances, but Lord Rule was wonderful and RA did Horatia's stammering adorably, btw.

I agree, Freddie Standen is a favorite, but I rather like his father better! How I wish Heyer had done a follow up story or a prequel with Freddie's father as the hero.JaneGShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11094501834387622997noreply@blogger.com
