So this is where the self-publishing world gets frustrating. Today I finally received the long awaited "Your Book Has Been Published" email from Outskirts Press, but you can't actually buy the book yet. Furthermore, I have absolutely no notion when it will actually be available. In limbo I continue to wait, wondering when I will finally get the darn thing in my hands. The thing is, if I go to the website Outskirts has assigned me - outskirtspress.com/firstimpressions - I can hit on a buy button for Amazon and end up on a page graced with my name and book title. That's kind of like an actual book in my hands, isn't it? Sort of? I can't get there by entering my info in Amazon's search field, and even once I access the page there is no information available able about the book, but still, it is there, and I'm excited. I can even pre-order it for some magic, undefined time down the road. No matter that the corresponding Barnes & Nobel buy button does nothing. Nothing shall burst my bubble. How shall I bear the joy of a physical book? I'm sure I will somehow manage, if only given the opportunity.
In the name of shameless self-promotion, please let me refer you to the sidebar where you can read my "apology" and link to the first three chapters of the book.
It's there, Alexa. So it is just a question of time. Very little time. You'll see. Fingers crossed for you.
ReplyDeleteThanks Maria. I know, but my patience is starting to run thin.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting, Alexa! It will be here soon! I'm very happy for you!
ReplyDeleteI love your blog's new look! So beautiful!
Thanks Meredith! I've been planning to change it up for a while, but hadn't found the time to sit down and making it happen until this morning.
